Russel Williams joins us to talk about the decriminalization of Cannabis.
On this episode of Take a Stand with Mary Ann, we discuss the controversial WV Supreme Court ruling allowing extraction companies to deduct post-production costs on mineral royalty payments. Also, we are joined by cancer survivor turned patient advocate, Russell Williams.
After a cancer diagnosis in 2012, Russell decided not to use pharmaceuticals to help with the side effects of aggressive chemotherapy. Instead, he used cannabis to ease his pain and manage the side effects. Now, he pays to be a lobbyist advocating for the decriminalization of cannabis. He tells us about his story, the WV 386 the Medical Cannabis Bill, and his vision for protecting this new industry from being hijacked by big money interests outside of West Virginia.
