We Welcome Diane Magnone to the show!
Candidate for WV House District 1, Diane Magnone, joins us to talk about the dangerous influence of the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC) in West Virginia and across the United States. What is ALEC? Who funds it? Who benefits from it? Is it ethical or legal? We even talk about why term limits may help increase ALEC’s influence. ALEC legislation we discuss today include: Voter suppression, campaign finance, religious liberty bills, attacks on the FDA, drug liability, Big Pharma price controls, union dues, right-to-work, prevailing wage, outsourcing, school vouchers, and torte reform including statute of limitations and limiting damages.
We started the show talking about Trump’s executive order on Obamacare subsidies and his attacks on healthcare in general. We discussed Alex Mooney’s vote against aid for Puerto Rico. And we even delved into the NFL protests.
